Dishwasher/disposal
In general is it a good idea to plug dishwasher into disposal outlet under sink? Iv'e seen NEC references to "fixed in place appliances needing dedicated circuits" I'm not sure what my local electric codes are or how to find them. I live in Columbus Ohio.
Thanks

Separate dedicated circuits are required now.
Are you doing work on the kitchen? If not here's my opinion:
- IF the circuit is dedicated 20amp to dishwasher and disposer only, I'd leave it alone
In order to use the same receptacle, the receptacle must be half-switched/half-hot. Do you have that set up?

Looks like you are on the NEC 2011 codes for single family dwellings.

I find a receptacle under the sink the most convenient way to power a dishwasher and disposal.
A receptacle can still be a dedicated circuit. You could run a 14/3 or 12/3 and use a two pole breaker and split wire a single duplex device.

Let us know if you need help testing for that.
