Receptacle short in junction box

Receptacle short in junction box

I had an elec short in a receptical, replaced it and it does not have any power to it. the next recep is not working. help!!!

First see if any of the breakers tripped. If that didn't happen, remove the receptacle that you installed & test for power again.

Note you can not test for power with a non contact tester. You need to use a multimeter, preferably analog, or a neon test light or a solenoid tester. All back stabbed wires in both working and non working receptacles need to be moved to the screws. All GFCI receptacles inside and outside the house regardless of location need to be checked.
