Running multiple 220 circuits.

Hi, I want to run 3 separate 220 circuits, for a welder, plasma cutter and a heater. They need a 50 amp breaker each. I want to use 6 gauge wire and run three separate circuits. They are all on the same wall within 20 feet of each other. My question is, can I run them through the same conduit, if i can what size, and can they share the ground wire?

Yes. Ground wire sized to largest individual load.
They are all on the same wall within 20 feet of each other.
Suggestion: Install a 100 amp subpanel on the wall where they will be. Put the subpanel in the middle. The you can run one straight off the subpanel and the the other two just short conduit runs both directions.

Tech note: Nominal voltage will be 240 (or 208). No 220v anymore.

Carefully read the instructions for both the welder and the plasma cutter. Since these machines have a "duty cycle" they often cannot be used continuously and will allow for a significantly smaller conductor size than would normally be used with a 50 ampere circuit breaker.

As an example, my Hobart welder is just fine with #10 conductors on a 50 ampere circuit breaker.

Just how big is the heater in question, kW rating?
