Wiring problem- track lighting to bx cable
client had removed a track lighting unit wired into a break in a bx cable, I connected black to the two blacks and white to two white, plus ground, and dimmer switch blew out, replaced it with new one for LED bulbs and same thing happened, lights stay on after blowout, just no control. My electric skills are limited, can anyone tell me how to rectify this? Have a pic of the area and wires but can't seem to post it here.but can send if interested, Thanks in advance

What is the wiring at the switch? If it has a black and white wire on it you connected it wrong.
Step back further and give us another picture of the connection.
Then for liability reasons you need to tell him to call an electrician. Nothing in the picture looks right.

You've run into a switch loop. One of those cables is the supply.... hot and neutral.
The other cable goes to the switch.
You're going to need to identify the hot wire/neutral cable.

You have a mess as that also needs a proper metal junction box and connectors for the cables.
