Blew out 5 or so outlets - reset breakers at box, but nothing

About to call an electrician. I was vacuuming in the cellar and about 5 or 6 outlets blew out. 2 in the first floor bedroom and I think 1 or 2 in the bedroom next to that and a couple or so in the cellar. I reset all the breakers at the box many times and nothing helped.

There is 1 CGCI outlet on the deck out back, but that is the only one that I could locate. All the other outlets in the house are all "regular" 3 prong outlets that I can see.

The basement is "1/2" or so finished, basically just one little room and this is the area that I was plugged into when they blew out.

Any ideas? Call electrician?

Thanks

I would check behind boxes, etc for another GFCI receptacle. If you can determine the first bad receptacle in the line or the last good one, pull them out with the power removed to check for loose wires or backstabbed connections. All backstabbed connections should be removed to the screwheads.

Open all receptacles on the circuit and check the connections. Move any back stabs* to the screws. Problem could be in either a working or non working receptacle.

*Doesn't apply to GFCIs. They are back wired (not back stabbed) or side wired.
