Replacing [Timer] tripper did not help

Post separated from http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-turn-off.html

I have the same problem of timer not tripping on automatically but will turn off itself. I replaced the ON tripper but it still does not work. Dial pointer will move past the ON tripper but nothing happens. Dial is snapped in. Gears are moving too. I also sprayed WD-40 behind the dial. What could be the problem?

Welcome to the forums.

Most likely is the timer is worn out. How old is it ?

It's at least 9 yrs old. I figured it may be time to replace it. Thanks.

I'd replace it with a Tork timer. Intermatic timers just aren't what they used to be.
