Making a homemade pitching machine from treadmill moter
Ok, I am wanting to make a pitching machine from a treadmill motor. I understand how to set it all up to run on the ac power but I was curious if there was a way to have it ALSO be able to run off of a battery. It would be handy if I go to a field where ac power isn't a option....

Welcome to the forums.
In order to run directly from a battery..... it would have to be a DC motor and for the most part...a 12VDC motor.
The motors used in treadmills may be of the DC type but they would be high voltage DC.
I think a lot of the motors used are three phase AC type and the power to run them comes from a control board.
That means you'd need to calculate what the total draw is of your system and then get a 12vdc to 120vac inverter. A 12v car battery would run the inverter.
