Lights out in master bedroom
Recently the lights went out in my master bedroom. So I figured I'd reset the breaker. I reset it and it popped right away. The next day I disconnected everything from the outlets and checked the outlets for loose wires and everything checked out. Went to reset the breaker and it popped right away once again. So I thought it was the ceiling fan that we added to that circuit since it was the only thing we changed on the circuit, and nope, still popped the breaker once the fan was removed from the circuit. The circuit controls the master bedroom, walk in closet, and hallway. Any help?

Welcome to the forums.
Nothing else changed on the circuit recently?
How old is the panel/breaker?

What kind of circuit breaker? Brand, model number and approximate age? Does the breaker have a TEST or RESET button on it in addition to the toggle switch?

Certainly sounds like the circuit has developed a dead short. You may have to start disectino the circuit until you find the issue.

Are you sure you actually reset the circuit breaker? Some home owners move the breaker to what they think is the off position and then to the on position and let go of it and it returns immediately to the off position. It takes a bit of force to be sure that when you reset the breaker you push it all the way to the off position and then back on.
