How to add an receptacle?
I have old receptacle that I want to replace. Currently it has a BX 2 wire coming and and one coming out. I need to splice the cables into a box so I can extend the wiring how does the split from within a box work? I figured all the hots go together, all the neutrals, and all the grounds go together? The line coming in is constant hot and both lines going out are constant hot as they will be feeding receptacles?
Can I splice this all together in a regular receptacle box?
Will this work?

Normally you would pigtail within the existing box but If this is old style BX cable with no grounding strip you do not have a reliable ground. Ungrounded circuits can not by code be extended. Your only code compliant option is to run a new circuit from the breaker panel or nearest correctly grounded unrestricted circuit.
