Does this meet "code"?

I have two lights in my garage which are connected using romex. I'm wondering if the wiring meets code or should I install emt or flexible conduit between the fixtures and back to the duplex where I am picking up the power source.
Appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.

Romex should not be exposed in a garage. Use EMT, flex, PVC or some other raceway to provide protection. The romex would be adequate if you were to install it above the drywall in the attic/joist space. If you have long runs to install, thhn or other wire would be easier to install in a raceway than romex, and be less expensive to boot.
