Grounding inverter in solar setup

I have had help here before on setting up a simple solar rig. All is working well now but, I have a question on a ground problem I'm having. I have a 2K watt inverter that works fine. When I test it with a ac ground plug tested it tells me I have an open ground. So I grounded the inverter as seen in pics but, I still get an open ground from my plug tester. I am new to solar energy. Is this abnormal? Does an inverter put out electricity with an open ground normally? Appreciate the help so far. Any response would help, thanks.

Using a plug tester is your problem. In this situation they mean nothing. They are to identify a grounded conductor. Your system does not have a grounded conductor. It isn't needed. A ground wire to a ground rod won't change anything. In this case it is just lightning protection.
