Welcome to the forums! Your profile is not complete so we don't know where you are located. You are obviously not in North America, where most of our advice relates. What protects things from the beginning?

I'm not a professional electrician but I would say yes, you need a breaker there.

When I lived in the Philippines, a typical 110V transformer was ready to go. You simply plugged things into it and no need for a breaker.
It sounds like you are hard-wiring, so all your connections should be fuse protected and in electrical boxes.

Your MDP (main distribution panel) should have breakers or fuses that protect the circuits connected to it.

Is your 110/220v transformer a plug in unit ?
If it is.... it will not require a circuit breaker.

If that transformer is hardwired then it will require a breaker.
