What size aluminum wire in 50A breaker

what is the biggest size alum wire that you can fit on a standard 50 amp breaker??

Usually #2, but that can vary by brand.

Or you can pigtail to a smaller wire that fits.

The breaker should list on it the min/Max size of conductor it will accept.

have you seen guys use 2 awg alum for sub panel runs about 75 ft from a 50-60 amp breaker?

Yes. I've used #2 Al SER with a 60A breaker. Also used #2 MHF 100' off 60A breakers to detached garages.

Yes I've done that several times #2 al is cheaper than #6 copper.
