Electrical Issues

I need help help on a situation.
I had to call a heating and cooling company to come out and fix my furnace which had quit working. I was with the technician the whole time he was trouble shooting different areas. Anyways while doing this he unplugged the heater and the plugged it back in without turning off the breaker first.
After the heater got fixed, I am now experiencing all my light fixtures my appliances and TV keep flickering and power shutting off and back on again. It is scurrying me that I might have a house fire.
Could have unplugging my main furnace caused this to happen?

Welcome to the forums!

I have moved your post to its own thread. It is always better to start your own rather than piggybacking on another. That way it will get the attention it deserves.

To answer your question: No. It is very unlikely that unplugging the furnace would cause the issue you describe. That said, it is odd that your furnace is cord connected and not hard wired. Please let us know if you are talking about your furnace or some other heater, like an electric space heater.

HVAC units are typically dedicated circuits so there should be no impact on the rest of the house.

What type of heater is this? Power specs?

If you are having power issues throughout the house you should call your power company 24 hour trouble line and request a service truck.

The heater is a coleman, the house panel is probably a 1986.
