Out Side Porch Light Flickers?

Out Side Porch Light Flickers?

Hello Everyone, My front step light flickers off and On, is this a loose or broken wires inside it, can i fix it myself. How full should the bucket of water be that i will be standing in when i change it!!lol!!

First turn off the breaker and bend the tab at the bottom of the bulb socket up slightly. Turn on the breaker and test.

Next thing to try would be to change out the switch as it is the next-likely part to go bad.

What kind of bulb is it and is the fixture one of the dual bright type and/or day/night?

You can test if the switch is the problem also by just bypassing it. With the breaker off remove the two wires on it and connect them together. Turn the breaker back on and leve the light on long enough to see if it is still flashing.

yes my friend has the same problem at his house, with both have regular 60watt bulbs in them. i will visiting him and when i get back i can try what you suggested. will let you know. Thanks Guys
