interior circuit runs through exterior outlet
Hi folks, need some advice.
Renovating a small bedroom in my basement and wanted to add a couple receptacles on the indoor exterior wall. After tracing the wires I find the entire room (currently two lights, four receptacles) is first fed through an exterior receptacle . I suspect this is not up to code in Canada, is it safe to proceed?
Thanks for any feedback.

I'm not sure if that's up to code or not, I can't see why not.
For me I would try to move that exterior cable to your nearest interior 'new' box and start from there.
That way you only have one cable at the exterior, making the wiring easy.
