Type of cable/wire w/ NEMA 1450 & 50amp breaker

Installed a 50 amp breaker and NEMA 1450 last weekend for our new electric vehicle car charger. I posted pics online and some people are chiming in saying I used the incorrect cable. It's 6-3 NM w/ ground. The forum trolls are saying:

And here are some install pics:
New breaker is 50/20/20 at the bottom

Is the NM wire ok? I want it to be able to draw 50 amps in the future if desired. Current charger only draws 32.

Welcome to the forums.

Your pictures did not load correctly. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

#6 is the correct size. Since the charger is 240v. you could have used 6-2 w/ground.
No problem... just cap off the white wire as it won't be needed.

Some pictures we could actually view would be nice. Where is the 6-3 NM cable installed, inside or outside? If it is outside the trolls are correct, NM cable can only be used in dry indoor locations.
