New security light with motion detector
Good Evening Gentlemen. I just installed a motion detector light backyard. It won't come on, even after I do the test mold. The whole line is new. I used 12/2 gauge wired, white. I ran a wire from a power source, to a inside newly install switch. . I ran a line form Motion light to switch. The switch double pole I think, two black wires on one side,, neutral/white and ground pig tailed. Power indicator say all worked. I check the light wiring it indicate power to light pigtails. What am I overlooking

Welcome to the forums.
I moved you to your own thread.
You ran power to the switch first. You connected the neutrals/white wires together. You connected the remaining two black wires to a switch. At the motion detector you connected white to white and black to black.
The motion light doesn't work but you checked for power.
How did you check for power ?
You cannot use one of those non contact test pens. That only gives you half the story. That tells you if hot is present but not neutral. You need to use a meter or a two leaded test light to actually check for power on the white and black wires.
