Proper wire guage for 100 amp service

Question

I want to run electrical service to my workshop, approx. distance of run 120 ft., would like 100 amps, with a 220 leg does anyone know the proper guage need for this task? additional info would be appreciated. Thanks.

according to Table 310-15 (b)(6) #2 aluminum , or #4 copper will be ok for 100 Amps

@ 120' , 120V ( one side) will drop 3.94V, or 3.29% @ 100 amps on a #2, but you would probably not run @ 100 amps continuously
