This cable ruined?

Afternoon all,

I am installing a subpanel in my garage and just ran the SER cable from the main panel up to the subpanel. After which, I noticed this:

No bare wire showing that I can see. This is permitted so I am wondering if it will pass inspection and, more important, is it safe?

Thanks

As long as it's just the outer jacket that's cut and not the individual wires insulation you can just tape it. You may want to leave it as is and let inspector see it before taping. If taped he may quiz you as to the amount of damage and make you remove the tape for inspection.

I am installing a subpanel in my garage

And, this garage is attached to the house? Or is it detached from the house?
