CAFI and/or GFCI everywhere?
In planning my new electrical panel upgrade i am finding out that the new electrical codes are pretty strict. It appears every circuit needs either a CAFI or a GFCI or both. Wow, that puts every circuit breaker about 5-8 times more expensive than a regular breaker. Is this correct?

Yeah, lots of expensive breakers. Don't need for most 240 circuits. Other thing still OK is work room/shop.
Most don't like using GFCI breakers and instead use GFCI receptacles. That frees up the panel a bit and are cheaper.

It seems 240v circuits do not need CAFI/GFCI protection, yet. Garages require GFCI protection. Seems like not much more to go with GFCI breaker($33) then regular breaker($5) and add a GFCI outlet($15+) to protect the rest of the outlets
