EMT in Shared Stud Cavity with HVAC Supply Duct?

Can I run EMT in the same stud cavity as a HVAC Supply (6" oval) if they are against opposite sides (don't touch). I live in the Chicago Suburbs (Buffalo Grove).

Yes that is allowed for any wiring method (including EMT conduit). The only restrictions with regard to HVAC ducts is that you cannot run inside the supply ducts with any wiring method nor can you run plastic wiring methods (romex cable) longwise through the return plenum spaces. Romex cables can go short ways across return spaces as long as the bore holes on either side are sealed with caulk or foam.
