my light does not turn off

I had a ceiling fan with lights that was controlled with one light switch. I decided to replace the fan with flush-mount light fixture and change the light switch light to LED dimmer light switch. (after noticing flickering lights) after doing all that the results are: I can't turn off the light or even dim it. I noticed that at the light switch box: I have one hot black wire and two black wires travel up, two white wires that twisted and caped and two copper wires are twisted and caped. in the ceiling box I have one black, one white and one copper that I connected to the corresponding white and black wires of the new fixture.

any thoughts? Thanks

Hi, is the new fixture an LED, did you disturb any of the splices in the switch box ? remove the new switch and install the old one and and see what happens.

Welcome to the forums.

How can you have three black wires and only two whites wires and two bare wires ?
Do you have wiring in a conduit there ?

Two copper wires twisted together tells me cable.
A two wire cable is one white, one black and one bare ground wire.
