Ground for outbuilding electric
Ok, I'm running power to an out building/shed. I'm coming off of my meter box with a 40 amp service. My question is, in my breaker box inside my building do I need to bond the neutral and ground?

Are you coming out of the meter or the panel?
I doubt through in the meter are good for a small conductor like a #8.

You have a pole mounted service with a disconnect panel. One breaker feeds the house and another.... 40A.... will feed the outbuilding. That panel in that building is considered a sub panel and the grounds and neutrals are kept separate. You will need four wire cable between that main disconnect panel and the sub panel. You will need a ground rod at that building that will connect to the ground block in the sub panel.

The service disconnect and the building with the sub panel need to be connected with four wire cable. Two hots, a neutral and a ground.
