Broken porch light and unlabeled breaker box...

I have a porch light fixture that is not working and needs to be replaced.

The problem is that the breaker box isn't labeled and I don't know which circuit to turn off, and since the fixture is broken I can't test by turning the light on and turning off circuits.

Suggestions? Tips?

(first time homeowner and new to this stuff)

About the only time I would recommend a non contact tester. Take light off wall leave wires connected, Turn switch on and have somebody hold tester to black wire. Switch breakers off till you find right one. This is a good time to label panel. as each breaker is off check each lights and outlet. the non contact tester is good for this also.
Before you disconnect wires take a picture so you know where things go back.

Going to need a a volt ohm meter, even a cheap one will work.
Someone needs to be holding the leads on the wires at the fixture, while someone else is tripping the breakers until you hit the right one.
It's going to be a single pole breaker, most likely 15 amp.

Thanks!

You can get a circuit breaker finder like this one. I know this Klein one comes with alligator clips that you can clip on the wires and then scan the panel to see which breaker the fixture is on.
