Can I Use a Wood Shim Next to Electrical Box?

I replaced a small electrical box with an Arlington One-Box. It has screws on the inside that allow you to attach it to the stud (instead of the Carlon old work boxes). Unfortunately, when I screw it in, the box keeps pulling to the right. It's at the sheet rock edge on the left side but is in too far on the right. Is it okay to stick a wood shim between the box and the stud to keep it from pulling backward?
