Hanging electric garage heater

I have a Federal Pacific Electric company hanging garage heater. It is old. I am looking for an electrical wireing diagram. I have the front plate with all the numbers and can supply pictures. When hooked to 220, only the fan comes on. If i trip the part on the side the heat will come on, the fan is always on. The heat will not shut off after this and i have to pull out the plug. There are 4 things.that concern me, 1. This part on the side with all the wires, 2. There is a device that sits at the bottom that could be a transformer, 3. There is a buss bar that all the wires go to, i dont know the path the electricity travels. 4. There is a coil that might be the thermostat. I also don't know where to hook up the wires coming into the heater. Any help? I can supply pictures.

That's a good brand for heat when you want it. (And even when you don't.) What kind of thing on the side are you "tripping" to cause the heat to come on? Does the inside of your heater look anything like this?

That would sure help as it would be better than using my crystal ball.
