What is my service entrance rated for?

It is an underground entrance with two 1/0 hot leads and a #2 neutral. The charts I have seen read the 1/0 is rated 175 amps but the #2 is only 125 amps. So with the neutral being smaller does that mean the entrance is only rated for 125 amps?

When discussing poco service cables things are a little different. They don't follow the NEC code the same as we do.

However, cables run thru a conduit are limited in ampacity.
More than likely your service cables are aluminum. 1/0 is 135A max.

PJmax, you are correct. I did not catch that they are aluminum cables. So the amperage capacity of the panel would be 125amps?

The neutral is allowed to be sized smaller than the ungrounded hot conductors. The service size is not based on the neutral size.
