How important is True RMS for residential use
I'm not a professional electrician, but do various electrical work around our house, a vacation house, and my parent's house. I have a couple Klein multimeters and clamp meters, but none of them are True RMS. How important is True RMS for my projects? Is it worth the extra money to get a True RMS clamp meter like the one attached?

For residential uses, it is not necessary.
It is more useful if you work with different frequency ranges, but for 50Hz and 60Hz AC, you will get close enough value from a regular non true RMS multimeter.
You don't really have to be accurate down to few volts on residential and even on commercial electric works.

I can't even begin to count the times I've used a DMM in both private and industrial settings. Not needed RMS once. Now, if you need to calculate actual power, as in, power metering, you will need rms V and I to arrive at Real power. .

One feature that is becoming more affordable and could be very handy is DC amperage measurement using the clamp-on jaws.
