Main Panel ground
Hello,
I have a main panel 100 amp cutler hammer likely original to the house 1968. There are two open spaces for breakers, however the neutral/ground bar is full and also has too many bundled grounds under some screws. I believe the easiest way to reduced clutter and open more nuetral/ground space will be to add an accessory ground bar with self tapping screw directly to the metal panel box. I understand that all neutrals shall stay on the factory neutral bar for close contact to the main service aluminum wire that is under the largest lug on the existing bar.
My question is whether I should leave the main copper ground wire that is connected to the copper water service entry on the existing neutral bar. I only intend to connect the smaller circuit grounds to the new accessory ground. Thanks

Cutler-Hammer may make you drill holes in the enclosure and use the tapping screws included with the bar. The label in the panel should show mounting locations.

I just had to add a ground bar to a Cutler Hammer BR panel today. These make it easy to drill and tap the 10-32 holes to mount the bar. https://www.harborfreight.com/sae-dr...set-95528.html
