Garage Plug : No power

Yesterday, I was charging the battery on the lawnmower. Had it on the factory charging unit for about 6 hours. Off to buy a new battery.

Today, I plugged my drill into the outlet and nothing; no power. Took the drill inside, works fine. So, it's the plug, right.

I then tripped every switch on the panel in the basement. Still no power. The reset every reset switch on those plugs that have one in the entire house. Everything in the entire house is working fine except for that plug.

Suggestions?

Is this an attached or detached garage.

Is this a GFCI receptacle? Since this is a garage if not it may be fed from a GFCI else where inside or outside the garage. That GFCI could be a forgotten one hidden behind something that hasn't been moved in years.

If it is a GFCI recptacle it could be a bad receptacle.

No luck with above? Then you also need to find every thing on the same breaker as the garage. The problem could be in the last working or first non working receptacle.

Do you have a multimeter or test light? (No a non contact tester won't work.)
