Wiring new ceiling fan

My project currently is on the second floor where I am changing a 2 way wall switch that controlled half a wall outlet to putting in a double wall switch that controls a fan/light and making the wall outlet constant hot. The power comes into the wall outlet, then goes up into the attic and drops down into the wall switch. I have full attic accessability as I have already installed the fan brace kit. I don't have ground wires(green), just red(hot), and black(neutral). It also looks like there are other items wired into the junction box in the wall switch and wall outlet. Looks like smoke alarms judging by tracing the conduit.
How do I wire in a new switch and fan to this setup? Yes, I am comfortable with my electrical knowledge enough not to hurt myself. Yes, I know to turn off the breaker on the circuit I'm working on.
