Loose plug in box

Hello,

Found a loose plug in our kitchen. Tiled backsplash. Took the cover off and noticed the top screw securing the plug to the box was broken off. Tried to drill it out but no luck.
Any suggestions to get the broken screw out and another way of fastening the plug to the box. Bottom screw is fine.

Try to remove it with a pair of pliers.

There should be a box extender added to bring the box closer to the surface . I like the Arlington be-1.

With a steel box you've got lots of options. Drill it out with a slightly larger size and tap for a #8 screw. Standard box screw is #6. Failing that drill and tap a new hole next to the old one. There's enough play in the device slot to make up the difference.
