Electrical outlet placement and height for full-size stackable washer dryer

Electrical outlet placement and height for full-size stackable washer dryer?

I am looking for some opinions on where other people like to place the 110V and 220V elec outlets in a closet made specifically for a full size washer and dryer that can be stacked with the dryer on top.

Where, and how high, do you guys like to place those elec outlets? Back wall? Side wall? Both elec outlets at same height? Or maybe 220V at a higher height?

Go to the manufacturers website for the appliance you are considering and look at the manual which shows the hookup locations.

With a spot that tight, the best place is probably going to be in the back of the "gutter" to the right of the machines. No matter where you put it, it will be a bear to hook up. I usually mount the laundry receptacles about 42 - 48" height, but code does not have any requirement in this area.

I have worked on many of washer/ dryer Combos like yours. I like the connections to be higher than washer and dryer cord and vent tube to be long enough to take dryer off washer and either set on floor or set on a table in front of washer. This will mean a dryer cord 6 feet long at least. Remember you need at least 6 inches behind washer/ dryer for the vent hose. Also any time you need a repair there will be extra charges for a second tech to unstack them.

Personally, I like outlets be accessible without moving the machine. So, I'd put them on one of the side walls toward rear, but still reachable from the front.
