Prepower stub out protection
Hi, I was curious if anyone knew per code if wires that are stubbed out during pre power inspection are to be protected by car flex or another means extending from the drywall to the SG box with blank . As it as now I have seen people just use SG boxes with blanks along with wire nutting conductors.

Welcome to the forums.
Are you talking about roughing in a new home ?
If you are using NM-b cable...... it gets stapled to the studs and cut into the box. Normally it's not energized at that point so it doesn't require wirenuts on the wiring. It doesn't require a blank for rough-in either. The ground connections need to be made up in the box for inspection.

Sorry, for pre power inspection.. ( in between rough and final ) say a hood stub out which would be constantly energized but the hood is still not installed.

Ahhhh....ok. Yes it should have wirenuts on all the wires. It doesn't need any protective tubing and doesn't need to be in a junction box.
This doesn't sound like new construction so if you have kids running around..... you can safe off the wire in a box.
