Build vs box store vs online L14-30 cord

Hi Im a newb & I searched and found a few older threads but couldn't be sure if they hold water today. Does anyone have a good source for any of the above? I would love to build my own (15-20', really only need 10') that way I can be positive of true gauge/spec. But if someone knows an off the shelf online 30amp cord or can vouch for a box store Id like their input as well. This will be going to the following:

5500 running watts gen, 240v @ 25amp> 30amp inlet box>backfeed electrical with interlock via 30 amp breaker.

Sites & links would be great

I agree, I bought mine on Ebay.
A store bought one will also be waterproof where the wire connects to the plug.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely shy away building my own now.
