Romex color

Does code dictate the jacket color for romex? I know 12 is yellow and 14 it white but does code require that? I have a 20' run of 12/3 with a ground and I used a piece or wire that is new but I've had for years The jacket is yellow. All the rest of the wire I installed is newly purchased wire and I wondered if the inspector wlll have heart burn over it, It says 12 on the jacket.

I have not encountered issues with short pieces of older cable.

Colour is not specified in the code. It has become a manufacturer semi standard that white =#14, yellow=#12, orange=#10, but it is not in the code.
