What is this braided wire?

Just trying to learn about what's in my breaker box. What do you think this braided copper wire is for? Notice that it has it's own conduit exit point. I'm guessing that this is from the double pole 40 X 40 amp breaker and it goes to the kitchen to power the oven.

Nothing to do with 40 amp breaker or kitchen.

Grounding Electrode Conductor - Connects to ground rods, water pipes, etc.

Just a note, it's twisted, not braided.
