Installing receptacle & light boxes on exterior wall

I have new construction and have installed 4 receptacles to exterior sheeting and plan to install 2 lights to exterior sheeting as well. I mounted my wet locations box to the outside of exterior wall where it protrudes out ~2 1/2". I'm not sure I like this installation as it will be an eye sore even once the fixture and siding is on. Afraid it will stick out more then we would like. Any solutions to this problem without cutting a 3 1/2" hole in sheeting or is that the only real solution?

If this is new construction..... by all means cut the boxes in for a better look.
There isn't a surface box that will match the recessed look.

I do have 2x6 exterior wall studs so I guess I'll still be able to get some good insulation in behind the box.. Trying to avoid area of possible air infiltration while also getting a good look on the exterior. Probably will just cut in to recess box so its flush with the sheeting

You can cut them even with the sheathing or leave them out slightly based on the siding.

Plastic boxes for receptacles can easily be air sealed.
Depending on the weight of the fixtures.... you may need to use metal boxes.
