Heat pump dimming lights

Hi I recently installed a heat pump in my grandparents home. When the heat pump blower cuts in, the lights in the house dim for an instant. Any ideas/ solutions?
thanks!

You're going to have to give us a lot more information. Start by describing the power supply setup. How much electrical service is there to the home? How much current does the heat pump consume? Did you install electric emergency heat with the heat pump? If so what size/kw? Did you replace an existing heat pump or is this a new installation?

My first guess is that there is insufficient electrical service. It could also be under sized wiring or poor electrical connections. But we'll know more once you tell us more about what you have.

Sounds pretty normal to me, especially in older subdivisions where three or more houses are served by one transformer.
