Are you using a no contact tester pen that you just hold close to the wire or are you using a multimeter or other tester that requires you to touch probes to the wires to test for voltage?

If switch has white wires in nut check connections.
Check connections at light.

checked circuit..... not tripped. Then used volt meter tested power to switch an all is good.
If you just check from the switch to ground...... you confirmed the circuit is hot but you have not checked the neutral. Like joed mentioned..... you need to check from hot to neutral instead of ground.
