Kitchen outlet not working

Hello. Our kitchen outlet is not working so we reset one of our GFCI outlets. The sevice panel (fuse box) controlling the outlet did not flip off. We then bought a brand new outlet, wired it up and it still didn't work. What should we try next?

Problems like yours are at the last working outlet or the outlet that is bad. If any wires back stabbed move them to screws. Any wire nutted connection need to be taken apart and redone.

You need to identify everything on the affected circuit. Then you need to determine what is and what is not working. That will usually help you to pinpoint a problem location.

The service panel (fuse box) controlling the outlet did not flip off.
You also might try turning the proper breaker off and press the handle firmly into the "Off" position before turning it back on. You could have a tripped breaker and not know it. If it is tripped, you will feel and hear the breaker reset when you press it firmly to "Off".
