Help... Outlet problems

Can anyone help? There was an extension cord that shorted and now the problem is I have 3 lights and 3 outlets that work sometimes and sometimes don't. I have my outdoor outlet and 2 gfi outlets that work. 1 gfi won't reset or test but plug something in it and it has power. Can that gfi have a problem that is causing the others to work on and off?

First you need to open the receptacle where the short occured and redo all the connections and move any backstabs to the screws.

If you know the path of the circuit, the problem is almost always at either the last working fixture/receptacle or the first non-working one.

Hi, Remove the GFCI receptacle that won’t reset and test the load side to see if there is power there, assuming there a conductors attached to the load side terminals that could be the problem.
