Outlet question

Dumb question. Can the plaster ears on electrical wall outlets rest against the paneling. This would solve my recessed outlet problem. With the ears pressed against the paneling, i would gain the 3/8 inch i need to make outlets flush.

Yes, but you can't have more than a inch exposed flammable material because the box is recessed not flush.. Best solution is a box extender.

Second that. I replaced cheap paneling with drywall and planks and had to move the outlets over an inch. This extender works because it can extend from .25 inches to 1.25 inches or anywhere in between. Easy to use.
