Electrical power line

I am going to pressure wash my home exterior soon and I have a question that I hope doesn't sound too dumb. Is there a danger of electrocution when the water hits the main power line that comes in from the street to the home? Thanks.

There's no danger from incidental mist, but do not directly spray any part of the electrical service. Residential electrical boxes are only rated for rain falling in the normal direction, not directed sprays. The shock risk is low, but the power wash stream can cut wire insulation or cause internal parts to corrode from excess moisture. Also just be careful with your ladders and spray wand -- it's easy to get focused on the job and not realize how close your head is to the wires. The service drop should be fully insulated, but you can't be 100% sure after years out in the weather.

Thank you very much for the information. I will most likely stay away from the service drop but it's not too old so should be okay. Thanks again.
