Gfci Kicked out

I put in a GFCI, there are 5 outlets and a ceiling fan./light going through it. I checked all the outlets and fan/light and everything worked fine. About an hour later I heard the GFCI kick out. Nothing is plugged into the outlets and the fan/light was not on. What should I check for?

Hi, is the GFCI a breaker or receptacle?

Make sure you have the load and line conductors on the right terminals on the GFCI.

I will recheck tomorrow when I go there. I have one of those testers that lights up to tell you if they are wired right. Thank you.

I went to the house today. I could not get the GFCI to turn on, it would kick it off immediately. The last outlet on the circuit was the problem although I don't know why. I did not see anything wrong with it. I checked all the connections and looked for bare wire. I put it back in and it is working ok now. I shut the circuit breaker in the box off. I don't want to leave power to it while I am not there. I will turn it on while I am there tomorrow. Kind of strange how it kicked the GF but took an hour to do it yesterday?
