Blower motor confusion
Trying to convert blower motor to shop fan. 110 vt. 4 wire unit. Capacitor has one brown wire to motor. Other side of capacitor has a black wire conected to nothing. Black wire from motor should be high speed. Why is there a black wire from capacitor and where does connect?

There should be a diagram on the motor, if not then where did the motor come from. Have you tried ohming the leads out? Sounds to me like you have a multi speed blower fan that was connected to a controller board for an ac system.
I tried this years ago and found I had to block one side of the fan to get it to work because the motor got to hot.
I had 3 blowers and after working on the first one I tossed the other two and bought a fan.
