Question Size is my wire?

I am running a125 AMP electrical service to my detached garage. I came across a good deal (Free) on some wire that I think is a #2 Copper, however, it is not marked anywhere on it. Before I use it I would like to make sure what size it is. I can not find a chart that tells me using the stranded wire diameter. Can someone help me identify what size it is?
Here is what I can tell you about it:
  • Outer diameter of the plastic shielding that measures .353" diameter.
  • It has 7 single strands of copper that measures .084" diameter each.
  • Measuring across the twisted group, the high sides average .257" diameter.
Thanks for your help!
Jerry

Based on your measurements it looks like #4 copper (85A). Unfortunately you don't know if that cable carries a waterproof ID. Typically it would be THWN and have a clear shiny coating over the black insulation. You may have THHN or MTW cable which isn't rated for underground (wet/damp) use.
