Wiring a 2 way and 3 way switch off same run

So I'm working on my attic, I have power coming in to current switch on stairs, which I'd like to send up to another switch for 3 way for a light over the stairs to be controlled upstairs. But I also want to run a different 14/2 up there, for the main room lights, to be only controlled up there, completely separate from the 3 way. If im not mistaken that should be possible, since they are just sharing hots? I am just curious about if I can do this, or if I have to run a separate line altogether for the main room control/lights.

I drew up a little diagram off an existing 3 way light setup

Regular 3 way
