Connecting sprinkler controller to electrical outlet

I have an exterior electrical outlet that I want to connect my sprinkler controller to. The face plate is flush with the wall. I found a while-in-use type weather box cover like this:

Is this supposed to be a permanent setup? I wonder if there is a better way to connect to the outlet. Thank you.

That is the correct cover and is the only way to do what you want.
It is considered a permanent option.

Thank you, sir. Will buy one and do the installation this weekend.

EDIT: My outlet is horizontal whereas the linked photo is vertical. Does it matter?

I cannot edit the previous post.

I found the answer. There are 2 removable tabs, one at the bottom and the other on the right. For vertical mounting, remove the bottom tab. For horizontal, remove the other. Neat.
